Existing rules for travel to Kauai remain effective until that date. The State of Hawai‘i announced Monday that the new online Safe Travels. Governor David Ige has approved Kauai Mayor Derek Kawakami’s request to rejoin the Safe Travels pre-travel testing program for Trans-Pacific travel, effective April 5, 2021. As of April 5, Kauai county will join the islands of Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, and Hawaii in participating in the state’s Safe Travels pre-travel testing program that allows visitors to forgo the required quarantine period if they have a negative COVID-19 test.
